The Sixth Day Farm is a family run farm in the town of Clarendon, NY. Dr. Wayne Jarvis and his wife Kathy live here with their five daughters, son-in-law and three grandchildren. See why we named it Sixth Day Farm.

Our Alpacas... Bravado
Bravado is our foundation herdsire. He is the result of combining the finest and most proven Peruvian alpaca genetics in North America. Bravado's sire is Bueno. Picked as the #1 choice by three of the country's leading Alpaca breeders, he was the high-selling Alpaca at the 1994 Spring Celebrity Sale.

Don Julio Barreda from Peru, known as the world's greatest alpaca breeder, was quoted as saying: "Best in Show" "Bueno is an example of what every breeder should be aiming for: conformation, density, crimp, uniformity". We are certain that Bravado will go on to sire as many champions as his father.

On the other side of his pedigree, Bravado's dam, NWA Ltd., Marcie contributes another line of proven superior genetics. Her sire was the world famous Hemingway, who has also has over a hundred champion offspring.

Bravado has many offspring and grand-offspring on the ground that prove his fantastic genetic package.  A high percentage of these descendants have blue ribbons and color championships but more importantly they have certified fiber samples and skin biopsies that scientifically prove what Bravado can do.

Our clients and partners can obtain a major increase in their herd’s rate of genetic improvement by using quantitative genetic analysis of performance values to assist them in making breeding selections. A trait’s genetic breeding value describes how an animal’s progeny are expected to perform for a given trait. The use of estimated progeny differences, based on breeding values, will increase the accuracy of selection of males and females in a breeder’s herd. Sixth Day Farm is currently working with histologists to analyze skin for secondary to primary follicle ratios; geneticists at several universities to develop custom software to determine breeding values; and other state of the art genetic improvement techniques already used and proven in other livestock industries. This innovative approach to scientific breeding sets Sixth Day Farm and their clients apart from competitors in the marketplace.
