About the Alpaca Network, LLC

The Alpaca Network, LLC brings together a diverse group of people, all vested in the same thing: "their passion for these animals and the desire to help others become successful in the alpaca lifestyle".

Here is a just a bit of the diversity of our small group; we have a genetics expert who is working diligently to pull together the alpaca owners in understanding the impact of genetics on our offspring and to further develop the alpaca fiber industry utilizing clear and concise genetic facts.

Some of our members put on seminars geared towards people who are interested in learning more about how to develop a business plan, how to purchase and house alpacas, as well as fiber education.

We have farms who have multiple champion animals in their breeding program. Each of those farmers is willing to work with you to understand what makes a champion alpaca and alpaca farmer.

As a result of our combined animal count each of us is able to bring to you a large selection of animals to choose from in making any alpaca purchasing decisions. You can decide who in our network you prefer to work with but each farmer will work with you and bring to you a multitude of animals that meet your breeding needs or business plan.

In addition to education and information we have a multitude of excellent herdsires to choose from for your breeding and rebreeding needs. By dealing with us you are able to have opportunities for the same discounts and variety you might have if you dealt with large breeding farms with large advertising budgets.

Likely the single most important service is access to any of the farms for assistance and learning. We have committed to be available to one another and any of our customers at any time, for any need. As a customer, you too will have access to this extensive network. No one farm will offer you the personal attention and information that our group will collectively bring you. All of us are committed to providing a more personal level of after Sales support that is lacking in most of the large farms.

Come and visit not just one of our farms but any number of our farms. We are dedicated to assisting you as you move through the process of trying to understand, "Is this business for me?"

MISSION STATEMENT

The Alpaca Network, LLC is a collaboration of local farms, consisting of founding members, who have joined together to support one another and their clients, in sales, after-sales support, information sharing, marketing, education, expertise, services, and support resources. In short, we exist to support one another and our combined client base.

CODE OF ETHICS

Empire Alpaca Ethics - The Alpaca Network, LLC are all proud members of the Empire Alpaca Association, our farm agrees to abide by the Code of Ethics established by the membership on October 1, 2003.

Association members resolve - to be responsible breeders basing their actions on the ethical principles set forth below, to promote the breed honestly, to discourage people from buying on impulse, to ensure customers can adequately provide for alpacas, to serve as role models for future breeders, to contribute to the integrity of the Alpaca Industry, and to promote the long-term health and vitality of the North American Alpaca Herd.

Responsibilities of Association Members

A. To the Alpaca Industry 

• Breed alpacas with the future of the alpaca gene pool foremost in mind by selecting breeding pairs that can improve the next generation.
• Participate in the ARI registration process for the alpaca industry to ensure the maintenance of the genetic history for the North American Alpaca including reporting deaths.
• Provide proper housing, nutrition and health care for all alpacas whether owned, boarded or under temporary custody. 
• Ascertain that any alpaca sold will have access to appropriate housing, nutrition and healthcare, including companionship of at least one other camelid. 
• Maintain current and when known historical written medical and breeding records for all alpacas whether owned, boarded o r under temporary custody. 
• Members should be responsive, professional and honest in all dealings and communications. 

B. To Buyers 

• Provide full disclosure of the animal’s known physical condition, fiber, health care, vaccinations, and breeding history. The husbandry records in written format will be provided to the buyer.
• Assure animals offered for sale are behaviorally sound, living or capable of living within a herd.
• All animal sales agreements and guarantees will be in writing and signed by both seller and buyer.
• Provide the buyer with a copy of the registration certificate containing the pedigree record of each purchased alpaca and comply in a timely manner with current procedures for transferring ownership.
• At the time designated for delivery of the alpaca(s) to the buyer, the alpaca(s) will be current for vaccinations, worming, toenail and teeth trimming consistent with the husbandry practices of the selling breeder.
• Provide information, training and advice about alpaca care, diet, pasturage, shelter and other necessary information to the buyer.
