Maturity Rules & Regulations -All Halter Show related questions should be directed to the Halter Show Superintendent, Peg Stephens (812) 294-4880 or Email: pegstephens@earthlink.net -No refunds will be given for changes/cancellations after the close of show registration (the last date registrations are being accepted or the show sells out, whichever is first). -No animal substitutions will be allowed from the original entry form, unless an animal becomes ill and permission is obtained from the Show Superintendent. Permission must be obtained prior to arriving at the show. There will be a $10 change fee for each change made to your show registration after payment has been made. -The show will be run in accordance with the 2010 rules of the AOBA Alpaca Show Division. We encourage you to join the Show Division and become familiar with the Handbook. Please review the AOBA Show Division Rules regarding show entries for color groups for your animals. -Please note this is a full fleece only show. All Huacayas must have a minimum of 3 inches and a maximum of 8 inches fleece and Suris need a minimum of 3 inches, maximum of 9 inches fleece to be entered. Animals not meeting this requirement will not be allowed in the show ring. See show rules in handbook for maximum lengths for Huacaya/Suri (page 8-8 I.e and page 8-9 2. d. -All alpacas shall be presented for judging with a plain halter and lead rope. The handler's attire should be conservative, neat and appropriate for the class. Farm names or alpaca names cannot be displayed on the exhibitor or animal during the class. -All alpacas entered must be registered with the Alpaca Registry, Inc. No pending papers will be accepted. -If you bring a dam with cria at side, the cria needs a CVI, BVD test proof, ARI registration and microchip. Cria may not enter the show ring. Cria paperwork must be brought with you to the show. -All alpacas must be entered in the name of the owner as listed on the ARI Registration Certificate. Animals that are in the process of being purchased or certificates that have not been transferred must have a Buyer's Permission to Show Form, signed by the owner that is listed on the certificate. -Get of Sire, Produce of Dam: Show or Breeder's Best Three options are available. A copy of the ARI registration for the sire or dam must be included. There is a limit of one entry per sire or dam. Exhibitors may not know who the other exhibitors are until arrival, entry deadline for the sire/dam group classes will be 6:00 P.M. Friday evening. As a gift for you, there will be no charge for the Production Class for our inaugural show. -There is a $75.00 AOBA fee for all farms that are not AOBA Show Division members. It is $75.00 per farm, not per animal. There is a $6 AOBA Show Division fee for every animal entered in the show, that fee is reflected in your entry fee. -An owner may only enter 3 alpacas per breed type, gender, color designation and age division. Example: An owner can only show 3 white, huacaya, 3 - 5 year old males. This show is anticipated to be a Level II show, however, if there are less than 100 alpacas it will be a Level I. There is not a limit on the number of alpacas you may enter in this show but please take ensure that you do not register more than 3 alpacas per gender, color or age for either show level for any farm/owner. -Once your registration is complete, send a copy of ARI Registration Certificate and Exhibitor Disclosure statement to the show superintendent. Please use color definitions as found in the AOBA Show Division Handbook and the most current ARI color chart to determine the color of each alpaca. An alpaca will not be entered if there is incomplete or missing information. -The Show Superintendent will divide classes as much as possible. Example, for 6 years and older black males... if entries include 4 or more true blacks and 4 or more bay blacks, the class will be divided by color designation. -Stall sharing is allowed. It is your own responsibility to make these arrangements. -Five animals may be in a double pen with the center panel removed (your option to divide) as long as the animals are all of the same gender.
New York State Health Requirements ***Please note a change in the 2010 Show Division rules for the CVI not only requires that it be noted that each alpaca has been tested BVDV negative using the PCR test but that the date of the test, initials of the lab that performed the test, and the testing method (PCR) all need to be written on the CVI. - Uniquely identified by Microchip at the base of the left ear and microchip number must appear on CVI. *It is strongly suggested that all animals attending are vaccinated for rabies within one year of the show. |
